Ahoy! Kyle turned 4!

Kyle turned 4 today.  He's tried to hard to keep up with his older sister that it seems like he's been four for a while.  But today, it was official!
At four, Kyle is strong, independent, and a crazy ball of energy.  He runs everywhere and climbs and jumps on everything.  That's why we got a trampoline.  I'm hoping it will give him an outlet :)
Kyle loves Primary, loves his sister Emma, and thinks he is all grown up now that he's four.  He's been going through a growth spurt lately and suddenly seems so tall to me!
He loves to watch Disney Jr., loves to play with Legos and anything you can build, can be both a complete pain in the neck and the sweetest, most loving boy.  He still asks to sit in my lap and loves to give me a kiss on the "wips".  I am trying to enjoy his hugs and loves as long as possible, before he gets too old to be hugged and kissed by mom.

So, today, Kyle woke up early to open our family presents.  He was SO EXCITED to get a Lego Woody because HE REALLY WANTED THAT!

He was thrilled to get bubbles because he REALLY WANTED them. Mostly because it's also a laser gun.

And of course, just the thing he REALLY WANTED  was this robot police station thing.

He also got some other Legos and a Leapster game, which he REALLY WANTED.

After playing with his toys all morning, we were ready for his party.  He really wanted a Jake and the Neverland Pirate party.  This is a brand new Disney show- so new, they don't have any merchandise out yet. A simple pirate party wasn't going to fly.  So,  I made my own invitations and labels with the Neverland Pirates logo, and tried to make some of the activities like the show.  We played Pin the Hook on the Captain,

searched for gold Doubloons,

ate lunch and cake,

but mostly just jumped on the trampoline.

Kyle insisted on dressing like Smee-

He got some great toys from his friends.

Tonight Kyle chose to have his birthday dinner at Peter Piper Pizza.  It will be insane on a Saturday night.  Maybe I should rethink the tradition of letting your children pick where to eat on their birthdays....

Happy Birthday, Kyle!

Wow! Looks like a fun time for everyone. (and a lot of work for mom) Joe used to love the real Peter Pan movie...he was little when Return To Neverland came out. I remember having to sew tiny little felt sandles on his Mr. Smee toy from McDonalds...because he had sandles in the movie! The things we'll do for our kids....it's a good thing we have blogs now to document it all...at least they'll be able to read about it as adults and appreciate their moms! Good work Valerie!
