5 Years Old

We sure have been celebrating a lot of milestones lately!

Today is Emma's 5th birthday. She is so excited to turn five because to her, turning five means she gets to go to school, and she gets to watch TV shows for older kids, like Hannah Montana and Phineas and Ferb. Yes, I have been putting off allowing those shows into my house as long as possible. But after attending a Hannah Montana party for her friend, she's "ready for big-girl shows". Maybe I can negotiate putting those off until she's six.

Emma at five years old
  • is energetic, enthusiastic, spirited.
  • loves all things girly- pink, baby dolls, ponies, Barbies, princesses, etc.
  • loves to learn- her favorite thing to do is work in her preschool book or play her preschool learning game/Playhouse Disney games on the computer.
  • cannot wait to go to school in the fall
  • is still a drama queen
  • is a fantastic helper. She would rather help me do "work" around the house than play a lot of the time. She always asks me if there's any work she can do.
  • gives hugs and kisses, loves to cuddle with Daddy, loves to see baby Drew, always thinks about Kyle when getting treats or presents. She is just a loving girl.
  • is my favorite daughter.
We love our sweet girl and can't imagine our lives without her. Happy Birthday, Emma!

Here's a nostalgic look back--indulge me.
