Avila Beach, The Conclusion

I'll try to be less wordy this time.

We awoke Thursday morning with no firm plans, so after breakfast we decided just to take a walk around the little beach town. We played at the playground for awhile, then walked down Avila Beach Pier. The kids were terrified at first, and Emma never really let go of someone's hand, but they enjoyed seeing the water, the birds, and especially the harbor seals. We could hear them barking and could even see them jumping around in the water. Emma thought it was hilarious.

Thursday afternoon brought more pool time/nap time, and then we headed over to the San Luis Obispo Farmer's Market for dinner. I had a deep fried pizza pocket- Marcus had some bbq, Kyle kind of ate a hot dog, and Emma ate- a bagel. That girl.... We walked through the vendors, getting balloon animals for the kids and trying to hide from the "Population Control" booth (I was sure they'd yell at me for walking around pregnant with two kids already!) We ate some kettle corn, then headed back to Brooke and Joe's Cold Stone Creamery for some free ice cream. Yum! A little more sight-seeing and we were off to the hotel for bed.

On Friday, again we didn't really have plans, so we drove to the Pismo Beach Outlets for a bit, then joined up with some of the other families at the Avila Beach Farm. The kids fed the animals, we browsed the produce, and took pictures.

We ended the trip with a trip to a park in San Luis Obispo for family pictures and a wonderful dinner put on by Brooke and company. I'm excited that the preview of the pictures turned out well- hope there are some more good ones. I'm not thrilled about my big ol' belly being in the pictures, but hey, what can you do? After eating, we headed to the Brundage house for cake and a "talent" show by the grandchildren. It was pretty entertaining, and Marcus has video if anyone wants it.

We left Saturday around 11:45 (after much prodding by me) and made it home around 9:30pm. Again the kids traveled great, and we all fell into bed, exhausted. Thanks again, everyone who put time and effort into organizing this. We had a great time, and hopefully we'll see you again soon!
